A mind map designed as a compass for improvisation sessions. This is what Decisione Consapevole has been so far. But what if we used the map as if it were a fully-fledged framework to create a choreographic work with four dancers dealing with their decisions? An empty space to be used to fill or empty through the awareness of every single performer. Respecting one’s taste plays a key role in ensuring that everything is even and that the various personalities all wear a single piece of clothing.

The piece of clothing that provides the performers with specific qualities and behaviours, rhythms and meticulously studied mannerisms also creates boundaries, which nevertheless entail endless freedoms. The piece of clothing is what leads to a decision. So maybe the piece of clothing itself embodies awareness?

Isolation, intimacy, communication, community are the four key words that, though narrowing the circle and making the performer’s decision less diverse and more respectful, create infinite possibilities suggested by every single word.

The fully conscious decisions by the dancers on the key word to choose to put forward their action in space will determine how the scene is created, decisions that can very well exist singularly, but also and most importantly they can coexist with all the others.
