Dance and music come together in a relationship of mutual amplification from which a constantly evolving imagery unfolds. Sound evokes images that are translated into movement that, like in a game of mirrors, is reflected, changing perspective and meaning. The choreography develops in two paintings entitled Passage/Paysage: Passage is a narrow corridor in which the limit becomes strength through a duet of female bodies continuously interrupted by an incessant repetitive rhythm, low frequencies and concrete sounds. The two bodies intersect, underlining the dancers’ intention to meet or portray themselves in the form of the other without ever fully succeeding. Although similar, the two figures move with differing timings: one with greater speed and sudden movements, the other with a more fluid and continuous flow. The temporal dissonance highlights the difficulty of finding a stable balance and reflects the syncopated and repetitive rhythm. Each attempt at meeting generates a sense of absurdity, a disorienting loop that places the beholder in a state of unpredictability and fascination. Only in the final scene, titled Paysage, does repetition become a form of transformation, and the two bodies on stage become one another’s alter ego. The electronic music through a cyclical combination of images interprets how the world is seen, or as it is wished to be seen.
