The GrandPrix Project stems from a reflection on encounter in contemporary dance and its productive processes. Although different generations of artists make up this wide choreographic context, the possibilities for creative exchange are limited. The wider-frame of GrandPrix is to propose itself as both platform and place of encounter between two generations vaunting different study backgrounds and interests, both immersed in the same surroundings and “pool of artists”. The work intends to develop certain aspects particularly dear to the author: the relationship with the viewer’s gaze, quest for a shared sensitive body, the poetics of what happens in the state of reciprocal presence) in the context of public awareness. Inspired by works of Boris Groys in “Going Public”, Giuseppe Penone’s sculptures and their relation with an object’s essence, the body and music of Radigue, Spiegel, and Bach for their repetitive and spatial qualities.

The project has been developed in four different choreographic residences in collaboration with C.L.A.P.Spettacolo dal vivo, CSC – Centro per la Scena Contemporanea di Bassano del Grappa, Teatro Comunale di Teramo/ ACS Abruzzo, Molise Circuito and Lavanderia a Vapore di Collegno/ Fondazione Piemonte dal Vivo.

Giuseppe Vincent Giampino achieves the bachelor's degree in choreography at S.N.D.O. School for New Dance Development - Amsterdam, having the opportunity to meet and collaborate with international choreographers and dramatists including Marten Spangberg, Benoit Lachambre, Bruno Listopad, Keren Levi, Trajal Harrel and participating in festivals including Spring Festival Utrecht, Ruhr Triennale, Something Raw.
Maker and performer, now his work sees him engaged in redefining the organization of a body and its generative possibilities in relation to the compositional modalities of dance, visual art, and pop culture.
In 2018 one of his works "Extended symmetry", was selected by the Network Anticorpi XL for the Vetrina della giovane danza d'autore of Ravenna - Ammutinamenti Festival.
In 2019 his new work "FuoriForma", is semifinalist at the Scenario Prize. In the same year, he begins the production of a new choreographic project, "GrandPrix", supported by ResiDance XL-Network XL.
