It seems that human beings need to be in a state of emergency in order to act, and that they can only truly contemplate the possibility of change when it becomes inevitable. Until then, the only option is to survive as best we can, moving forward along a path whose only point of reference is the self, in a blindness (more or less conscious) to the Other around us. As individual human beings, how do we face crisis? Do we ignore it, or do we embrace it? Se domani reclaims the word ‘crisis’ in its original sense: as a choice, an opportunity to reconnect with the Other, to renew oneself, to be alive without presuming to be immortal, by staying in relation with what is outside ourselves and letting reality pass through us. On stage, two bodies trace the edges of a liminal space, a corridor in constant dialogue with itself and the world. In this glut of images, in this cult of individualism, the gaze collapses, sinking into a bodily and existential blindness. The boundary dissolves and expands – so does the sound, which in its rhythmic and relentless progression transforms into song. These two bodies, as representatives of a collectivity locked in a solitary shell of patterns and protections, encounter otherness, and thus themselves, until they touch, moving together through a shared crisis.

TIR Danza

TIR Danza is a dance production organisation that operates in the field of contemporary dance and research, through initiatives that support and accompany choreographers, enhancing their artistic identities and creations. It develops its projects through a collegial structure, bringing together the different skills and professional experiences of the members of the artistic direction, Fabio Acca, Massimo Carosi and Pietro Mazzotta. It is characterised by a curatorial approach that constantly analyses the relationships between subjects and artistic languages, between audiences and production structures. Its practice of thought and cultural research aims to consolidate the ecosystem of ‘new Italian dance’ in its most dynamic and original artistic expressions. The artists supported to date by TIR Danza are Megumi Eda, Greta Francolini, Nicola Galli, Vincent Giampino, Alessandro Marzotto Levy, Massimo Monticelli, Manfredi Perego, Silvia Rampelli and Elisa Sbaragli.

Elisa Sbaragli

Elisa Sbaragli, a choreographer supported by TIR Danza since 2023, explores the body as malleable matter trained towards a state of presence, attentive listening, and relation with spaces and with both human and non-human elements. Her latest works are Se domani, invited for in artist residency at South East Dance (UK) and D.ID Identity (AT); Mirada, winner of the Danza Urbana XL 2024 call. As part of the CRISOL – Creative Processes project, in 2023 she undertook two residencies in Norway with national and international artists, under the mentorship of Heine Avdal and Yukiko Shinozaki (fieldworks). In 2017, she completed Azione, directed by Sosta Palmizi. In 2013, she completed the two-year Professional Training Programme for Contemporary Dancers, directed by Franca Ferrari.
