Studi per M / Madeleine is a choreographic project that explores the relationship between places and the human figure. Madeleine expands her awareness of places, landscapes, and what surrounds and welcomes the body, and in the body, it carries out a process of connection between apparent spatial and temporal boundaries. It is like seeking the point at which choreographic artifice and the concreteness of reality converge to create a third dimension, an overflowing encounter. It is about working on a pure choreographic path and open it to the spatial dimension of reality, starting from the body as an element that unites and overflows. It is about working in the present and listening to the layered temporalities that emerge. Attention to the constant positioning of the body, where the body is placed and how it inhabits that space, is the starting point. Whether inside or outside the theatre, it is a matter of stripping materials of their utilitarian function and allowing their true nature to emerge, removing superstructures or predetermined intentions. Madeleine seeks to open up materials and observe their core, to stitch together fragments of reality, and experience dance as a tool to approach the unspoken that bodies emit and places conceal. It aims to enter a temporal threshold, a displacement, an out-of-place and out-of-time state, inhabiting a presence rich with potential. This process is Madeleine.
