NID Platform
New Italian Dance Platform
NID Platform (New Italian Dance Platform) is an event founded in 2012 with the aim of promoting and supporting the most significant Italian choreographic productions. It facilitates an open dialogue to assess the current state of the art of young choreography, as well as the trends, languages, and contemporary dance practices in Italy.
This project was conceived to expand and renew the Italian dance market, fostering the circulation of Italian excellence on an international scale. Established in 2012, initially as a biennial event and becoming annual as of 2024, NID Platform reaches its tenth edition in 2026.
The event is the result of a shared vision among dance distribution bodies belonging to ADEP (Associazione Danza Esercizio e Promozione) FEDERVIVO-AGIS, grouped into the R.T.O. (Temporary Grouping of Operators), with the Direzione Generale Spettacolo (Directorate in charge of music, dance and theatre) of the Italian Ministry of Culture and the Regions of reference.
Fondazione Piemonte dal Vivo is organizing the tenth edition of the NID Platform, scheduled in Piedmont from September 1 to 4, 2026, under the title “Coreografie del possibile” (Choreographies of the Possible). The lead image for this edition is by the artist Cristian Chironi, thanks to a collaboration with CAMERA – Centro Italiano per la Fotografia in Turin.
