‘I believe in the future resolution of these two states, dream and reality, which are seemingly so contradictory, into a kind of absolute reality, a surreality, if one may so speak.’
André Breton, Manifesto of Surrealism
Sognare – Fase RAM is a metaphor for sleep’s capacity to process the experiences we accumulate during the day. It is an immersion into a dreamlike world featuring two entities: the sleeper and the echo of their sleep, who influence each other through a waltz of movements and a sharing of thoughts and emotions, symbolising a profound intimacy.
The creative research draws inspiration from Max Ernst’s surrealist vision, based on the generation of hypnagogic images. It is a creative process that captures pre-sleep visions, experiences and memories to compose an unpredictable dimension with a cartoonish aesthetic, defying all conventional structures.
Sognare – Fase RAM is an open book with blank pages, a story written with the ink of imagination, whose meaning is not rooted in logic but driven by the desires and fears pervading every layer of the mind.
