‘I believe in the future resolution of these two states, dream and reality, which are seemingly so contradictory, into a kind of absolute reality, a surreality, if one may so speak.’

André Breton, Manifesto of Surrealism

Sognare – Fase RAM is a metaphor for sleep’s capacity to process the experiences we accumulate during the day. It is an immersion into a dreamlike world featuring two entities: the sleeper and the echo of their sleep, who influence each other through a waltz of movements and a sharing of thoughts and emotions, symbolising a profound intimacy.
The creative research draws inspiration from Max Ernst’s surrealist vision, based on the generation of hypnagogic images. It is a creative process that captures pre-sleep visions, experiences and memories to compose an unpredictable dimension with a cartoonish aesthetic, defying all conventional structures.
Sognare – Fase RAM is an open book with blank pages, a story written with the ink of imagination, whose meaning is not rooted in logic but driven by the desires and fears pervading every layer of the mind.

Scenario Pubblico

Since 2002, the year in which the choreographic centre was founded, Scenario Pubblico has been committed not only to dance production but also to programming, presenting guest artists, artist residencies, education and the promotion of dance. In 2022, with its designation as a CRID (Centro di Rilevante Interesse Nazionale per la Danza), the value of the Company's work was formally recognised. Today, it serves as an artistic and cultural centre dedicated to choreographic research and to fostering cultural development across the region, and is widely regarded as the beating heart of Catania's contemporary dance scene. Throughout the years, Scenario Pubblico has consistently worked to build a network that supports the artistic and cultural growth of Catania and its citizens.
