Freely inspired by the mathematical paradox of Achilles and the tortoise, Il secondo paradosso di Zenone follows an astronaut on an agonisingly slow journey across an urban space. It is a celebration of deceleration, a quiet rebellion against a system obsessed with producing and consuming at an ever-accelerating pace. By deliberately shifting the focus of an action, the piece allows new ways of seeing and engaging to emerge, acting as a reminder that even the most imperceptible progress can reach a destination. Disrupting the ordinary, the astronaut interrogates the surroundings and carves out a suspended realm of silence and reflection. Through deliberate, drawn-out gestures, this figure resists the frantic speed of the everyday, stretching time to create a jarring contrast with the surrounding reality. The result is a surreal, hypnotic apparition in the cityscape, a living slow-motion sequence that catches passers-by off guard, inviting this accidental audience to pause their daily routines and question this alien presence.  

Elisabetta Consonni

Elisabetta Consonni choreographs everything: human and non-human beings, moving and stationary objects, maps, interstices and cosmic tour groups. Her background combines a formal education in Communication Sciences and dance training in Italy and London (The Place) with a broader, non-linear informal development. Her journey has taken her to Rotterdam, Poland and Milan, leading her to integrate somatic practices and vocal work. Her research explores how the performing arts can provide tools for urban and social policy. She aims to expand choreographic practice, turning it into a tool to shift attention, observe relational dynamics, subvert narratives and critically re-interpret contexts. Consequently, she is constantly inventing new formats that engage audiences in diverse, participatory ways. Her work has been presented across Europe and Canada. Driven by a need for long-term engagement with a single territory, combining relational practice, artistic sensitivity and a desire to amplify voices and actions within a specific context, she has served as the artistic director of the ORLANDO Festival in Bergamo since 2024.

Sara Catellani

Sara Catellani is a dancer and teacher. She graduated in Performing Arts in Milan under the direction of Susanna Beltrami and completed the Arsenale della Danza advanced specialisation programme at the Venice Biennale. In 2012, she earned a degree in Psychological Sciences and Techniques from the Università degli Studi di Milano-Bicocca, followed by a Master’s degree in Psychomotor Therapy from the Italian Society of Neuro-Psychomotricity in 2021. Since 2003, she has collaborated as a performer with numerous theatres and dance companies, including ALDES, Egribianco, Altroequipe, E.Motion and Cie Willi Dorner. Since 2010, she has also worked as a dancer and actress for various productions at the Teatro alla Scala in Milan. She has been collaborating with choreographer Elisabetta Consonni on participatory projects since 2019.
