Nu è un progetto coreografico che si ispira liberamente all’estetica barocca. 
La ricerca nutre il Corpo contemporaneo partendo dalla sua carnalità, acutamente esposta, attraverso la sua bellezza e i suoi segni di sofferenza. Un corpo in bilico che, tra umano e inumano, tra angelico e animale restituisce un fascino metamorfico. La sensualità corporea sprofonda nella realtà, percependone la densità carnosa e interrogandone il senso sfuggevole e apparente. Una passionalità che tratteggia l’emozione e la passione in tutte le loro sfumature di ambiguità, sperimentando i segni del divino e della sua presenza. Dolcezza e tormento, piacere e dolore, vita e morte, rappresentano l’intreccio inestricabile che unisce l’integrità e la sacralità dei Corpi. 

Virginia Spallarossa

Dancer and choreographer Virginia Spallarossa is the artistic director of the Déjà Donné company. She trained at the Teatro alla Scala and furthered her studies at the Académie Princesse Grace in Monte Carlo, later embracing contemporary dance and studying with European masters of Release technique. She danced with the Olympic Contemporary Ballet in Medusa, choreographed by Wayne McGregor, and since 2007, she has collaborated as a dancer and assistant with Déjà Donné, participating in all its productions. Since 2017, she has worked alongside director Jacopo Spirei as a choreographer for opera productions, including Nabucco at the Teatro Sociale di Como in 2017 and Rinaldo for OperaLombardia in 2018. In 2021, she choreographed Un Ballo in Maschera at the Teatro Regio di Parma for the opening of the Festival Verdi, followed in 2023 by Carmen at the Sferisterio Arena in Macerata, directed by Daniele Menghini. In 2024, she worked on Un Ballo in Maschera at the Gran Teatre del Liceu in Barcelona and A voi d’Amor ribelle! at the Monteverdi Festival in Cremona.

Déjà Donné

The contemporary dance company Déjà Donné was founded in 1997 in Prague. In 2000, it relocated to Italy, embarking on an intensive period of creation and touring both in Italy and abroad. Since 2015, artistic directors Virginia Spallarossa and Gilles Toutevoix have steered the company in a new direction, aiming to unlock its potential and contribute to a profound renewal of style and artistic language. Its core activities include the creation and production of contemporary dance works and performances, the regional, national and international distribution of its works, training for professionals and non-professionals and the development of programmes aimed at promoting contemporary dance and audience engagement. Déjà Donné’s works have been presented in 26 countries across North and South America, Asia and Europe. Its activities are supported by the Italian Ministry of Culture as a dance production organisation and by the Lombardy Region.
